Honda Element Decelleration Noise	Sign In

When my car gets warmed up pretty well, it will start making a grinding sound in 2nd gear when the car is decelerating. The noise goes away when I put in my foot back on the accelerator. Occasionally it will start making the sound whether my foot is on the gas or not, but primarily just when I'm decelerating. The sound occurs nonstop when I turn my AC on.

I put this in the "noises" section just because it's difficult via the web for a noise. Uggh - sounds like sitting on a Whoopee Cushion if you heard of those from eons ago? OMG - just looked they still make the things! > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTsXtu3ivko <
Doesn't help much. The notation that it's always making this noise/grind when A/C is on is actually helpful to find it. Probably going to take two, one to drive and make it do this with the other chasing down just what and where if it has to be run totally hoisted or something.

For now - Just check belt(s) the engine/motor mounts and attention to the flex pipe of exhaust. Any of those can be the cause of strange noises on the long list. Just note this apparently is load dependent to make it happen or go away should help find it,

What year? Is this AWD? Are you applying the brakes when the noise is happening? Any warning lights coming on or illuminated?
