Ford front left wheel noises Sign In

06 ford fiesta, 40k+ mileage..
Due to all the cold weather I haven't had my car on the road in about 2 and a half weeks. I drove it today and as I was reversing out of the drive I could hear a kind of creaky, lurching noise, which I thought could have just been the car being a bit stiff after the cold and needed to warm up. I let it warm a bit more but the noise continued.

I didn't drive far and a man at a traffic lights said he could smell burning rubber from the car. It didn't smoke but the noise got louder and more concentrated at the front of the car at the left wheel.

When I pulled over and had a look at the wheel, comparing it to the right side, the car appears alot lower down on the left side, with only a few centimetres between it and the wheel- as opposed to a good few inches on the right side.

I know nothing about cars so didn't go touching anything or poking about around the wheel.
Can anyone tell me what might be wrong?
Thanks

Sounds like your tire is rubbing for what ever reason. Overall suspension check is in order. If you don't know enough to check it out yourself with confidence then ask a friend. Good luck
