Engine Knocking suzuki grand vitara ddi 2006 Sign In

Hello,

My car was serviced about 100 miles ago and started making this noise:
http://youtu.be/Gt7Y5fUiRJQ

I Turn off the ignition and it leaves a loud humming noise.
http://youtu.be/Fd7oX5QeS7c

I checked the oil and it is really low (very annoyed as it has just ben serviced) but no lights are on and no Oil light.

Knocking noise seems to be only present when accelerating, maybe it is noticeable a little when idle but I cant really hear it.

I also saw a plume of smoke when I first heard the knocking but cant determine if this was just exhaust.

Any advice?

In the first video that sounds almost like a rod knocking. Did the place that serviced your engine actually put enough oil in it? Might want to swing into your mechanic and have them take a listen.
The second video is private and can't view it.

Sorry try that video now.

It appears not with the oil as its lower than the low mark.

Could I perform an oil change now and would it be drivable or has it killed the rod bearing ? Hence the noise?

How much would it cost to replace the rod bearing?

Thanks for you help

If that is a rod bearing, it's a little too late. The engine will have to come apart. Driving it will just make it worse. There could be other damage done besides the bearing if it was run low on oil also. Might want to get hold of your mechanic and have them take a look and give you an estimate. They can also write up a repair order estimate that you could use to dispute the place that changed your oil if indeed that didn't put enough oil in it.

You can't undo engine damage like that. Once it's there, it only gets worse. And worse meaning total destruction.

As far as repairing it, you're looking at a new engine.
