2002 Dodge Durrango 5.9 I replaced the alternater a couple of months ago and now the belt is squeeking. Is there something i need to tighten? the belt is a little loose and in good shape deep grooves

Loose belt would explain it. It may look good but if beyond range of self adjustment then it has to go or perhaps self adjuster isn't doing it's thing,

I am having the same problem with my Dodge Dakota. My problem started when I replaced the water pump. I'm now on my third belt and still lots of squeeking. I also put a new tenshioner but that hasn't made any difference. You my want to try cleaning the pulleys with some break cleaner. Maybe you got some oil or some type of lubricant on the pulleys when you changed your altenator.

Good luck,

Joe
