i purchased a 2000 dodge neon in 2007 with 46,000 miles. until 11/10, i drove only city miles; 5-10 miles a day. in 11/10, i moved & i now drive highway miles; about 50-80 a day. i'm not sure if it's because of the increase in wear on my car, but in the last month, it's fallen apart.
there's a clicking sound every time i press my brakes that lasts until i come to a complete stop. in august 2010 i got all new brakes, rooters, brake pads, etc. but i feel like they're grinding. is it possible i need new brakes again? the heating blows cold, the ac blows hot; the oil light keeps coming on when i know i have oil in the car; there was a loud, bubbling sound as i was idling at a red light.
any ideas what might be wrong or what it would cost to fix? i'm a recent college graduate and just started working. i'm not in a financial position to purchase or lease a new car and my cousin is a mechanic so can do the repairs when he returns from deployment in 2 weeks. is it worth it? or should i start crying about it now?

Two and a 1/2 years on brakes you may need them again @ ~ 80 miles a day now. Can't say so they need to be inspected.
Bubbling sound perhaps from cooling system suggests a head gasket/gasket or metal damage to cylinder head or something to be found but not likely inexpensive.
I suggest getting a pro to look at this in person of course and see what it would take to make this car dependable for you again or think about a change,

Thank you so much for your response! I really appreciate it. I planned on bringing it in somewhere tomorrow to have it looked at, I just wanted to have some sort of idea as to what I should prepare for. If I have to just buy the parts, it might be do-able. Thanks again!

Hey - speak for many regulars here and want to stress "brakes are brakes" -- going is optional but stopping is going to happen and controlled really helps - duh.
Just do the right thing(s) as best you can,
