I just bought a replacement froont motor mount for this vehicle with the 3.0 vetec engine. The original mount has a vacuum line connected to it, but the replacement part from O'Reilly has no such connection.

What is the purpose of the vacuum and can the mount work as well without it.

Never seen this before.

That's an adjustable mount that uses engine load via vacuum to determine tension.....

I'm guessing you could problably put a solid mount in it there with no problems but personally I have always gone with the correct application due a few reasons, one of the biggest being, those are a PITA to get to and I sure don't want to be doing it a second time......for free.......

From what I read, that is a computer controlled motor mount. It has a vacuum solenoid and a control unit. You clearly have the wrong mount and i'm sure the correct one is much more expensive.

You're right there Desi,,,,,The other one is a lot more expensive.....

I'm just trying to remember if those will code or not....... That year, I'm thinking it doesn't. I don't recall ever dealing with an engine mount code on that year. I do remember one time the SM wanting me to go with a solid. If I remember right everything mounted up the same but I wasn't going to take a chance on a SES and doing it again......

Regardless of whether it sets a code or not, It was engineered in there for a purpose and I don't recommend putting the wrong mount in.
