ive ruled out a belt problem ( tension is fine, tried belt dressing ) the squawking is very loud but short in duration, maybe 3-8 sec. im thinking bearings but dont know how to pinpoint where.it is a 2.0 4 cyl engine with 2 belts. it is so loud on start up that you cant get a handle on exactly where its coming from. neighbors getting tired of my 6 a.m wake-up calls. hep me please.

I'm not sure how you think you eliminated the belts but that's where I think your problem is. If you put belt dressing on them, you pretty much ruined the belts anyway.

Belt dressing is just snake oil that is sold to make money. it has no practical use in the business because once you apply it, the noises just keep coming back and replacing the belts is the only thing that will stop it. Clean all the pulleys off when changing them and they need to be tighter than most.

Take the belts off & start the car. If the noise goes away then it's a safe bet it's the belts...
