2017 Nissan Sentra making ticking noise
|
|
|
Couple days ago my car started making a ticking noise. I thought it went away when i started to drive so no biggie but i now realize that it keeps ticking even when i drive. When I raise the rpms the ticking gets faster. I have a video but im not sure how to upload it. Would appreciate any help thanks! P.S. It only has 8400 miles on it and i bought it brand new so if anything is wrong it should be under warranty right?

Have you checked the oil level? Have you tried shutting the AC off? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

I have not checked the oil level. The AC has not been on at all while this is happening. Tomorrow after work i will check oil level and let you know. Thanks for the speedy reply

You need to double check the AC also. These new car are wired so the AC runs nearly all the time to remove moisture.

So i checked my oil levels. Its a little below full but still at a good level. My AC was turned off. Im not sure how to check if its on besides the on/off knob. Also discovered today if i put on my heat it smells weird.. Not sure what it smells like tho just know its not normal.

You need to have a professional listen to the noise before any damage gets done. We can't identify a noise over the Internet.

Well to finish this thread up... Had someone take it a look at it and there were leaves jammed inside a intake fan or something. Said that was the noise and the smell. Thanks tho.
