2015 Honda civic ex grinding noise after ~1k rpm Sign In

2015
Honda
Civic Ex
1.8L
115,000

I hear a grinding / rattling noise when I go over 1k rpm, normally after going 10mph but I can hear it while in park if I touch the gas. Sounds like its coming from front right part of car.

The shop told me its a bad front left wheel bearing. They replaced it yesterday, and after the TMPS light was on, check ABS light on, etc. Shop said its either defective sensors or wheel bearing and they will replace both again Monday and still charged me.

I can still hear the grinding noise. Just wanted a second opinion before going back tomorrow. I can post video within a couple hours of the problem if that would help. I think my belt tensioner has needed replaced for some time now, not sure if that could be it.

Much thanks!

I WANT to live on a FARM!
Quote you: ">I hear a grinding / rattling noise when I go over 1k rpm, normally after going 10mph but I can hear it while in park if I touch the gas. Sounds like its coming from front right part of car.<"

Please tell me this noise happens if in PARK that you are NOT moving? Now think (someone should) what in the heck is this noise to do about parts that ARE NOT MOVING? OMG, it's RPM related unless I've gone blind.

This is young for these cars I'm pretty sure all belt driven things are on passenger's side any are suspect IMO. One way is remove belt(s) see if it's gone. Spin items, also tap on parts, feel bearings and for lose parts just waiting for that "resonance" of RPM.

The TPMS other things probably do need finding out just why are NOT moving (TPMS) doesn't care though.
So, just know I don't see lots of each model of same vehicles. Last was 5 years older had all kinds of problems with plastic inner fender parts, missing or not fastened, and grill plus bumper parts. It was made out of two cars but not a Frankenstein just another model or year put a washer fluid tank on the other side was embossed in metal - a clear clue.
For now you could just be dragging a branch or something OR something bent in the course of doing something else.

I'm shocked if STILL it does it anyone would first replace moving parts that require speed match about the RPM?? THINK about that??

No the car is not moving when I rev it in park : ) I have it in park, with the ebrake on, and my foot on the brake pedal. Im guessing I paid for a repair I did not need. When they fix all my warning lights I will not be going back.

OK: When I said "think" I mean that. YOU COULD HAVE 4 FLATS, NO WHEELS, BRAKE PARTS HANGING, ALL BEARINGS AT THE WHEELS SMASHED UP - SO TELL ME HOW THOSE MAKE NOISE? Was on a rant unless you or info got all mixed up that isn't stuff to chase down - yet if ever.

Other issues are about it moving in combo with RPM. You might find it. I about don't know of an electric thing that can't make noise ENGINES have spots of vibrations to control and do quite well.
So you could make it make that sound with a safe listening rod OUT OF HARMS WAY TO YOU OR THE CAR, and just might find it.
Pulleys, belt itself, exhaust parts have heat shields. There are tons of plastic parts with one time use zip buttons that hold plastic in place. It just doesn't take much to bust those or loosen them up.

The other issue may or may not have anything to do with noise IMO. Not there but clearly saying "grinding" or noise when still wouldn't be parts that are just dead - not moving.
Something went wrong if a misunderstanding so no blame (yet) just didn't make any sense,

Tom
