2011 Honda Civic LX
Dont know engine size
Approx 170,000 miles
Hearing thumps while driving coming from front driver side. Kind of sounds like driving on a flat tire. Removed the tire. I dont kno the names of parts and my husband did it but he did say he feels a looseness there where it should not be. He said this noise started happening and that there was no incident that took place to cause it. Then I realized that a while back, perhaps a week or two before this started, I had driven over pieces of firewood that were in the road. I had not seen them and turned into them causing a huge vehicle lift as it went over and clunk down. I was worried I had tire damage but did not. It was the front driver side. Upon stopping and inspecting once I reached my destination 3 minutes away, I saw no visible damage. When I started the vehicle again, it would not come out of park. I tried over and over. Then I stopped trying for about 10 minutes. Then I tried again and it did come out of park. Didnt have that problem again. Im pretty sure this is probably telated to that incident. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

This is an accident so there's no one check or fix DIY wise for this. It's pretty clear running over firewood in the road isn't normal to a vehicle OMG no telling what damage could come from that.

Just try, well understood it can be hard by location to get this inspected and figured out what the fix would be. The car wouldn't shift out of park is a clue in this so mention that because NOW it isn't doing that?

If you want take a ton of pics and send them along here or to who or where could do something about it suspect lots of bent items so the fix can't really be known so easily,

This requires an on-site inspection by someone knowledgeable enough to know what to look for and that's not something that we can do online.
