hello there i have 2011 chevy express 6.0 v8 van. and recently i have been having a strange problem. first of all there is no engine light flashing. when i start the engine it is like miss firing but random not frequently. it is like couple times in 1 min. it does this miss firing especially on the hill and low rpm. i took it to the mechanic about 6 months ago and changed all the spark plugs and wiring. did not make a difference. after then i suspecteed about the transmission and pulled in a transmission shop and tested the vehicle but transmission has no problem. there is no code or anything. they checked physically and no problem either. they told me that engine is still miss firing so you need to change all the coils too. and then i changed all the coils today. it did make a difference. about %80 the vibration has gone but it still does. just for a test drive, after i got the vehicle out of the shop today i put my foot onto gas pedal to the floor and suddenly some strange noise started to come up from engine. it is like cylinder is not keeping up and miss firing and making a micro burst noise. so i need you experienced mechanics to give me advise what could it be. thanks

Coils are not a common problem on those. Any trouble codes stored in the engine computer on the manufacture side? If so, what are the numbers? An enhanced scan tool can look at current and history misfire PIDs. That would help isolate which cylinder(s) have misfires. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

If there are no counts in the misfire current or history counter, then it probably isn't misfiring. Have you tried getting an opinion at another repair shop? The counter is displayed in the OEM side datastream. You can't see it unless you have the OEM or enhanced scan tool.
