2005 Chevrolet Impala - please help identify this noise Sign In

Hello,
This is my very first post on this forum so hello everyone.

I will try to cut a very long story short, but the gist of it is this:
I have a 2005 Impala, very low mileage (50k miles) that has had an annoying grinding sound ever since I have owned it. Sounds like someone is dragging a stone across a brick wall.

The noise is coming from the front.
The noise seems to only happen on a particular type of road surface (residential uneven roads, not smooth highway)
The noise only happens at a certain speed (about 15-20mph).
The noise can be heard under braking, coasting, and deceleration. NOT acceleration.
This happens when my hands are both on, and off the steering wheel.

I have uploaded a very short video clip of the noise at the link below. Ignore the video crank your volume up.

The noise can be heard at 14secs, 27secs, 37 secs, 48 secs, and 59 secs.

To rule out a few things, I have had all the brakes replaced, a new steering rack, and I am running different wheels & tires for the winter (you can probably hear the studs in the video)

If anyone has any ideas what this could be, please let me know.
Thanks

Welcome: Hard to tell by the video to me? Sounded more like a howl of some sort. "Certain type roads and speeds" you say make this happen.

Noises are frequently guesses and places to look. See if by chance some plastic shield is rubbing tire(s) either debris or just maybe if these different wheels and tires do NOT take up the same exact space as called for by size that either is the cause or they are flawed in some way?

You could try rotating them and see if noise changes also look for brake obvious issues new or not sometimes a splash shield for those can run on rotors and make noise mostly on turns though but check if there. If so, many just bend back some if too close.

Wheels must be right wheels. If they are NOT dished properly new brakes might make caliper rub on inside of rim and would show evidence. So far the common denominator is changing the tires and wheels,
