2003 Tribure humming from center of car Sign In

I have a 2003 Mazda Tribute with about 130,000 miles on it. The past few months it has been making a low humming noise after I've been driving for a while and the car gets hot. (After about 150 miles, in Florida) The humming is coming from the center of the car under the passenger seats. I've always had it serviced at the dealer and have done all their reccomendations. I brought it in for an oil change and asked them to look into the noise, they couldn't find anything. They said to bring it back when it was humming, which I tried to do but it started raining before I got there and the humming went away. The past few weeks there has been a burning smell as well. (i askd the dealership about that, they couldn't find anything and said a bag may have gotten stuck under there and started burning.)
Any ideas what this could be? It's really woryying me.
Thanks!
jo

Intermittent problems will always be hell to figure out but I think you need to try another dealer or shop of you choice.

The independent shops can be and are frequently the best choice, T
