What could be causing a squealing noise coming from the engine, starting from about 1200 rpm and upwards? The noise will only subside when I come off the accelerator e.g. when I stop accelerating and go into cruise. This noise is also evident with the vehicle stationary and the accelerator is pressed past 1200 rpm.

Belt or a pulley most likely. May need to check pulley's with belt off. If belt has stretched it would be loose, T

OK T will remove belt and see what happens. Also could the turbocharger be responsible for the noise as well?

Maybe? Probably would take a local tech to check that out in person, T
