1996 Lumina makes noises when breaking

Hey guys. My 1996 Chevy Lumina has been making a loud noise when I brake. It kind of sounds like gravel in a blender. If I'm braking slightly at high speeds it's pretty quite, but when I'm coming to complete stop from a slower speed, like a stop sign, it's really loud and kinda vibrates. I can't think of anything relevant that would have contributed to this. The only other things wrong with the car is the window doesn't roll up and you have to hold the turn signals. I'm wondering if anyone has any idea how much this will cost me to fix.

Sounds like the brakes are metal to metal and you should have stopped driving it the first time you heard it.

Probably a lot more than it would have been if you had them done when they were supposed to be done.
