Hard to say. Could be broken heat shield(s) on exhaust parts. Just tap on them with a rubber hammer and they will make themselves apparent. Many can be fixed by a huge worm clamp if rusted out at spot welds,

I AM BACK WITH MORE ON THE JEEP QUESTION. I REPLACED THE OIL PAN GASKET - REMOVED STARTER AND HAD TO MESS AROUND WITH EXST AREA. NOW WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN GEAR I HAVE A RATTLE NOISE. ONLY WHEN IN GEAR NOT WHEN IN NEUTRAL. WOULD THE DOUGHNUT GASKET AT THE MANIFOLD MAKE NOISE WHEN IN GEAR ONLY?

Please keep all responses withing the same thread. I deleted the other one.

Donut gaskets when used: They generally should be replaced if taken apart at all. A bad one can be quiet at idle or no load and make noise with a load applied. Some will be noisy cold and quiet up a bit when warmer.

You had manifolds off. Are surfaces and or gaskets good for those? Gaskets aren't meant to be reused either,
