1993 Hyundai Excel belt loud noise

Hi, Just recently acquired a Hyundai Excel 1993 model car with very low km 47,000 so I thought the engine would be in good nik. But when I listen to the car when its idle the noise from the belt area is loud. Refer to you tube video for noise http://youtu.be/cew_BqWJ790 Is it just me being paranoid as Im used to driving newer model cars that make little to no noise. Or is the noise indicating that their might be something actually wrong with a belt or pulley bearing somewhere. Thanks Paul

If you can't isolate that noise just take the belts off and spin the pulleys by hand. It's loud enough one or more should clearly show that they are no good, T _________________________________________ Long retired now

Sounds like there isn't much question that something is coming apart. You need to isolate is as tom suggested. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
