1988 Chevy Bolt that holds Rockers broke Sign In

I had a bit of a tic in my engine so i figured id try and adjust the lifters so i take the valve cover off and start adjusting them.
Everything went good until i had one that just wouldn't seem to tighten so i get a better look and the whole bolt/nut was spinning.
My question is what should i do? new head's or see if there is a place that can re weld the bolt?

No, that's actually a common problem on those....

Those are press fit, I know they make upgraded threaded studs for those. You just have thread the stud holes is all.....

Just google Chevy threaded rocker studs or maybe some will post you a part # if they have one off hand

Back in the day, I had a 66 Impala SS conv. GM exec car. 327 had a ticking prob so I warmed the engine up and shut it down, pulled the valve cover and took the ticking rocker off the stud. Then I stacked flat washers on the stud and then the nut and pulled the stud out. The replacement stud was 2 or 3 thousanths oversize and kept in a freezer until ready to install. Engine warm & stud cold was a cakewalk tapping it in (using a nut screwed onto the new stud - not damaging threads). Careful not to overtighten the adjusting nuts, they will flatten a cam lobe. Sorry for the book, old guy here.
