04 VW Jetta Spark Plug Issues Misfiring and Smacking Noise

So my Jetta started missing driving home. When we replaced spark plugs, one had arced and was black and the metal L shaped piece had broke of into my engine. Failed to find it with camera, so put new plugs on. Started it and was now making a smacking noise and misfiring still. Replace spark plug wires, and started and ran fine. Went to test drive, and it started smacking and misfiring again. PLEASE HELP! THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Unless you are installing plugs with too much of a reach, it could be a mechanical issue causing plug damage. Another possibly is extreme detonation. Did anything happen up until this event? Was any recent work performed before this problem? Which engine? Has it been modified? What do the other spark plugs look like?
