Sign In   Hi guys I was wondering if I could ask a question I have reasons to suspect someone may have tampered with my brakes but the symptoms are strange First of all the brakes work okay in general but sporadically the will make this god awful grinding sound at the front and it feels bad on the pedal too.l This happens often enough but its not constant. Maybe 6 out of 10 times it wont happen and then it will happen a few times and then stop So basically i was wondering is there a way to cause this sort of behaviour? Sign In Hi Tom Greenleaf thanks for the reply. Yes maybe youre right but I have reasons for suspecting it may be sabotage apart from the brakes themselves. Basically I would never have considered this to be sabotage if it wasnt for other factors to do with humans themselves. When i get a chance I will take the wheel off and check it all out down there. I just keep trying to think how could someone achieve this effect? The person I suspect is a clever fellow and he might know some trick to do this? I can only think he added some compound or scratched it somehow but for all I know its probably just worn like you said. He wouldnt have gone for any obvious ways to mess up a car. Something subtle yet damaging like this would be a clever trick and not obvious tampering at all. Sign In Trouble is to make brakes grind as you said would be a lot of work even if someone wanted to screw up your car plus almost anything on purpose with brakes would be right away next time you drove it. Said - there are to many fast ways we've all heard of to vandalize a car. If real trouble it's a police matter and would ask them what you can best do to prevent this.
