2016 Subaru Impreza 2.0i limited Car brakes feel soft in brand new car after 4 weeks Sign In

I bought 2016 Subaru Impreza 2.0i limited on July 09, 2016.
After 4 weeks with only 325 miles driven, my car brake pedal started feeling soft.

I went to dealer immediately to fix this. Technician test drove my car (on Aug 09, 2016) and said it is 100% fine.

I even asked him to tighten the brakes atleast. He said they wouldn't do adjustment for Disc Brakes.

He did not open anything. He just drove the car (for atleast 15 min). Thats it.

I am still feeling the same with brakes. And one more thing observed is, If I pump the brake pedal, it is firm for sometime, and again becomes soft.

Car is stopping after I push down the pedal too much. But the pedal is not touching the floor. And I can feel that the pedal can no further be pushed down.

I am not sure this is normal.

Can you please suggest on this?

contact dealer express your concerns - the word BRAKES would be hard to ignore a request - might want to discuss with service manager arrange for him/her to drive vehicle.
- suggest they meet with you and drive at oil change -
contact Subaru there is a 800 number in owners manual.
Ideally contacting them all by EMAIL would generate a paper trail. No one would want a BRAKE issue ignored.

Not normal! If you pump them up and they feel significantly better or correct there may be air in system new or not.

BTW - you don't adjust disc brakes - they self adjust. Just at 325 miles these if assorted driving are any kind of broken in and you shouldn't notice anything weird except if you are driving on something slippery or an odd surface. Too new for real problems but defects or an issue from new possible.

Explain again as you did here and don't let up to you are sure it really is or isn't normal for that car,

Don't be surprised if you find out this is completely normal. Four wheel disc brakes can have a real spongy feel yet the stop on a dime long before pressing that hard. GM vehicles are notorious for that. People will sit in the car with the engine running and push on the brake pedal and complain the pedal is too soft and spongy yet if you roll the car forward, the slightest touch of the pedal will put you through the windshield.
