changing lock on a 2005 Civic Sign In

I have a 2005 Honda Civic DX 2 Door with manual door locks. The key started turning hard in one of the locks and I may have turned it a little hard and from what I've read I think I bent a pin or two in the lock. I'm planning on fixing it myself and I need to call the dealership to order the part. I think the part I need is called the lock cylinder but I'm not sure. I want to be sure that I order the right part. Does the cylinder sound right?

I guess you're assuming the lock cylinder is the problem. I don't know how you can be sure of that without taking it apart. You may or may not be correct.

Re: changing lock on a 2005 Civic Sign In

Thanks for the reply Hammer Time. The locks work from the inside so I'm assuming that it's probably the part where the key goes in. Does that sound right to you? Since I'm fairly new to this kind of work I thought I should make sure that the part where the key goes is called the cylinder before I ordered it. I'm really new to working on cars but I enjoy it. I just wanted to try to avoid ordering the wrong part. Thanks.

Yes, that is the lock cylinder.
