Power windows running slow, and sticking Sign In

92 Toyota Land Cruiser. The tracks get dry. I had been using silicone spray. I had the metal bracket pull off the bottom of a window and needed help from a body shop to get it back on. After he slathered the side of the track where the window rides with wheel bearing grease. Uggg! I feel I need to get that stuff out of there before it attracts dirt, scratches the glass, damages the rubber, and causes general maham. What should I use the clean the tracks? Mineral spirits? Lube after, Silicone spray again?

Thanks

You aren't getting that stuff out now. New tracks is your only practical option now.

I would expect you also have issues with a weak motor or glass out of adjustment.

Ditto - OMG no "bearing" grease at all for door parts - anywhere. As said you aren't getting it out anything that would, would also ruin it more. '92 - those rubber parts are going to be a hunt to find in good shape IDK if can be cloned new? It's unique rubber that does wear out sticks some windows like first said not much works but drying Silicone spray repeatedly it doesn't last either but not harmful to rubber,

Re: Power windows running slow, and sticking Sign In

Thanks,
It will cost ~$500 for the tracks on all the windows. Toyota sure gouges for parts. IF anyone knows a source for a better price I am all ears. The fronts need the door disassembled to change them. Based on what I saw the pro do I better take care of it myself.

92 Land Cruiser

Front Door Right Hand side - 68141-60010
Front Door Left Hand side - 68151-60010
Rear Door Right Hand side - 68142-60011
Rear Door Left Hand side - 68152-60011

If that's for Toyota exact right stuff be glad. Hey - we have cars too mine older than this now just a used trunk seal in perfect shape can cost $300. Have a perfect spare was thinking of selling it found out how nasty some stupid stuff costs. Nothing I can do about it if leaking into trunk would be hard to fake it with something. Not even tools needed and doesn't need it. In short custom fit rubber is the hard part usually to get at all never mind perfect or new,
