Is all I need a new front bumper cover? Sign In

I have a 2004 Dodge Stratus 6 cylinder with about 115000 miles on it. I don't know if my picture is suitable I can take more if needed. But yesterday there were terrible roads and I started sliding getting off the interstate, I chose to hit a sign instead of sliding into incoming traffic. Is all I need to replace here is the bumper cover? Like a 120 dollar piece from eBay? I don't know much about cars but need this fixed asap. Any help appreciated.

Don't be so fast to think it's just a cover. What's behind it could be all messed up and probably is. If painted that alone could cost a couple hundred depending? I can't say but this could be very costly and if torn up and not usable the way it is it's worse than you think IMO,

I have pictures if anyone is willing to have them emailed to them. I really rwaly hope that's not the case. It is on the side under the headlight it doesnt look like it tore anything up like you said. And the car still runs exactly the same.

You could upload your pictures to a hosting site, such as photobucket, and then paste the link in here.

Just that side of it. I was going a low rate speed when contact was made. I can get a better picture if needed. Its on the side with the battery well and all but it looks like just the plastic needs replaced and I know that still won't be cheap but I would be happy if that was the case.

Thanks for quick replies never been here before but you guys rock.

Sorry for the double post but thank you for the edit I am doing all this on my mobile so it makes it a little tough. The only other thing that I could see and like I said I know minimal about cars is there is a tiny piece of Styrofoam like material like maybe a shock absorber that is also missing. Also doesn't look like a tough replacement.

Glad HT got the pic to post as I couldn't. You are missing support parts. Not being there is still a disadvantage but hood seam to fender doesn't look right to me. This should be looked at and appraised IMO. You may be shocked at how much that could cost.

Used if possible could help and really help if by chance you can find the correct color.

None of this really matters how fast you were going. Ya - been in some bumps/accidents mostly hit from behind. Some do nothing and some wild damage and seemed like nothing.

If insured and this was ice where I am (MA) will not hold it against you as at fault but check if you go that route,

What do you mean exactly by support? And it not lining up? I'm also a broke 19 year old I wondered what the cheapest way to fix would be and if driving it like this poses a threat to any part of the car? The battery is visible.

Cheapest way IMO is going to be finding and you may have to do real phone calls to junkyards probably not willing to part out an intact whole front if good on a wreck for some other reason but around me the 10 year old mark you have a chance.

Headlight needs to be able to adjust and point properly. The battery should be carefully checked if it cracked at all and wouldn't like the trauma it's gone thru anyway nor things being exposed now so true you can't drive this like this.

From top post. Be glad you weren't hurt or hit oncoming traffic. Right choice when all goes wrong to choose the best of the bad situation if you can at all.

Suks but owning a car costs $$ without problems like this. To save $$ on the fix you don't have to make it look perfect but it must be safe and legal to use. IDK but this may take a shop to bend some things back in place to even get replacement parts to fit? Rock and hard place with short bucks but ask around. Shops aren't going to do anything IMO without seeing it even if a bare minimum so you can finish this off yourself,
