Accord

I was backing out of my garage and I dropped my phone out the window, so I pressed the brakes and opened the door to get it. I guess my foot must have come off the brake because the car started rolling back, and my door got caught on the edge of the garage. It dented the edge of the door, and messed up the weather seal on it.

I figure replacing the weather seal is not a big deal.. I think that could be fixed under $100. But I am more worried about the dent:

how bad is the door "sprung"? does it open and close as good as before or does it bind, drag, rub on rear of fender or pop when you open the door? next question is how bad is the damage to the inner frame of the door where the damage is? hard to give an idea of cost without answering these questions.

I don't think anything is wrong with the actual door. It opens and closes just as before. There doesn't seem to be any damage at all to the frame.

The only issue is the little lip on the edge of the door bent inwards.

Couldn't guess at the cost but by looks of the gaps this won't be cheap as they don't look right to me and proper bending it (the car, not just the door) to make it fit just right ain't cheap,

While at a friends house one night, their neighbor nocked on the door saying his son had backed into our car, driver's side door. Not much more than the what is shown in the first post. Their insurance company offered $2,300 for the repair. I think there would be 3 hours including painting to fix it, haven't got around to it yet.
I took the neighbor a bottle of homemade wine, it was good of them to come and tell us, I wouldn't have noticed it untill the next day when it was light out.
