They can be repaired and refinished but it requires some experience and talent. It has to be removed and brought back into shape using a heat gun, some wooden props and some sanding and light filler and then refinish the whole bumper with quality paint and clear coat. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

A different take on what to do: Quote Hedwig: >" My rear bumper got hit while it was parked at a mall when we came back it was dented. <" Hammer is spot on, this plastic junk still needs pro work if you want it back to correct if it was before. THIS WAS AT A MALL SO IS ON CAMERA! Get going find out who or what hit the thing! It's not going to be cheap or easy to fix to even be lousy but good looking again if true YOU weren't in it so who did it? Then off to the pros (not my whole game for the finish) if you care you'll never have tools, equipment, skills and the place to make it right again if that's your objective should be on thing or person who caused it. Get going or lose your chance or put up with lousy? Your call, Tom

Was just a thought and happened to me - I WON and wasn't at my "truck" as we know. Dang stores now know where you went inside and what you bought or looked at span the heck out of you so let them find the plate of who sounds like more than a cart. IDK statute of limitations or if place would help it was just a thought, Tom

Bumper scratch repairs may be less costly and might only involve a quick paint touch up.
