Advice for fixing large dent in truck Sign In

I just got a 2013 dodge ram sport, and when I woke up this morning I realized I had a HUGE dent in the side of my truck. Someone obviously hit me. I have already contacted the police and my insurance company. But what I am wondering is, basically the cheapest way to fix it. I am covered by my warranty but I already know they won't replace damage.
So and advice would be great!

Here is a link to a picture of the damage:

Thanks.

That's horrible someone would do something like that to you. What ashame. Frown

Honestly, there is no cheap way to fix something like that unless you want it to look like crap.

You best bet is to have your insurance company take care of it. You could also swing by a collision shop and get an estimate, but I think you'll be shocked.

Ouch that is a big dent... Sadly what Discretesignals says is true I was quoted $895 to repair this ding on our CRV made by a shopping cart.

(luckly the cart retrivers where removed due to a storm so the store was responsible but their policy is if they have places for the carts to go they aren't responsible)

Re: Advice for fixing large dent in truck Sign In

You're already paying out a bunch of money for insurance on the new truck. Let them fix it. That job isn't going to be cheap at all. Get the cash together to cover your deductible and let them do what you paid them to do.

Sorry to see this happen. If it happened at night, a good chance either someone who was drinking or didn't have a license or insurance hit you. Would not work out well for them if they stuck around and you wouldn't see a dime out of them anyhow. Thats the whole reason for having uninsured motorist coverage. If the insurance company tries to jack your rates way up, make sure you use the police reports to prove you had nothing to do with this and it was parked when hit.

Speak for here, MA. This would NOT affect your insurance rates unless you have a habit of this. You do have a right to ask for OE original parts not used or cloned anything.

Depending on cost and other factors this could reduce the value of this vehicle even if done like new and perfectly and you should be compensated for that now or at the repair. Just go see what it's worth trying to trade it in and you'll find out. Get that $$ now and demand it. Insurance isn't likely to bring it up but a good agent or body shop should be able to help you get the best fix possible and the most bucks to do it,

Hello,

Google Dent Repair in your local area or a PDR ( Paintless Dent Repair) repair company near you and they can make the dent a whole lot less noticeable for a whole lot less than doing bodywork and refinishing it. Any further questions just ask away.
