2010 Ford Escape - Total Loss? Sign In

Year: 2010
Make: Ford
Model: Escape XLT
Engine: 2.5L / 4-Cylinder
Mileage: 57,000
I was part of a large accident and was hit by several vehicles while stopped. I was struck on the rear left by a large pick-up truck, as well as a smaller SUV. Front passenger door - I was struck by another SUV (Ford Flex). Visual inspection of the damage - it looks like there are a few scrapes to the front bumper, it also appears to have a gap on the right side under the headlight. Passenger door is pushed in and molding around the door is bent. Plastic underneath is also cracked. Rear end - left side of hatch has been pushed in, the taillight is gone and part of the rear bumper has been ripped off. The spare tire is exposed from the bottom of the vehicle and the rear quarter panel has sustained extensive damage up to the window (buckling).
Insurance won't be able to look at it for at least a week...wondering if this is something that is likely to be a total loss, or if it is worth repairing? Want to be prepared in case I need to rely on a rental for a while, or if I need to start looking for a new car. Also, do I need to worry about damage to engine / electrical / etc? I was at a complete stop when I was hit by the other vehicles. Although no airbags went off the vehicle did have several impacts from several different angles.
Thanks in advance!

My guess means nothing but I'd say it will be totaled. Insurance company will decide whatever is the cheapest way out for THEM almost without exception. IMO you are better off with it totaled as funky hidden damage can linger on some of even the best repair work and an argument starts all over again - suks. Hope nobody was hurt,
