Hello all,

Hoping to get some feedback on how much work is actually involved in replacing a front end, and if there is other damage or things I am not taking into account.

I have a 2006 Chevy Aveo car that I paid <$2k for - I'm one of those people who doesn't care about having a nice car - it's a super basic, manual transmission car without A/C.

Was involved in a front/rear end collision going ~10mph. The car still drives perfectly fine (drove it home), but the bumper and frame are smashed in, the hood is dented, and the radiator is smashed in towards the engine (with the support frame bent), so with the possible exception of the hood, all of those look like they would need to be replaced.

I'm one of those people who would be happy to spend days taking things apart and putting them back together, and don't care if paint colors match or how nice it looks. Given all of that, what are your thoughts on replacing the various parts? I've looked online and can get a front end (bumper frame, cover, support, etc) from a junkyard for $150 or so, and a radiator frame for $70, so if I can do it all for a couple hundred in parts, that seems like it makes sense, but I'd like feedback on people who might know more about what they're doing. Thoughts?

Thanks for the comments in advance! :)

I deleted your pictures for the time being. They are WAY to large for the forum. Reduce the size by at least half, probably more and repost them.

If you had insurance your car would be totaled. You have extensive damage, including structural damage. The lights are broken, the bumper supports are bent, the radiator support is bent and likely the sub-frame also. You may also have damaged suspension and steering components.

Time for a new car and sell that one for parts.

I trust if Hammer says this one is gone and you wish to recover some bucks how about find another with as many same items at this one and combine them? That or part out what is still good on this.
There's some trouble as I don't think this is so popular nor a very high value if somehow was like new, low mile and clean title.
What brought you to a $2,000 valuation on this? Not my job but that's a lot for a salvage car like this? If stuck with that so be it now cut you losses as best you can hope you have clean title to get the remaining value of metal weight when parted out if you go that way,
